a fun d.i.y. (seriously, i know)

a while back (and i do mean a while) i used jeni's tutorial tutorial and made myself some fabric-covered wreaths. i love jeni's blog and i love her impeccable use of vintage sheets & fabric. after hunting down some foam wreath forms that i liked (aka they weren't squarish), i got to town and started cutting. here is the finished product...

(this wreath ended up being a present.
but do not fret, there is a beautiful one on my door, with a vintage butterfly instead of vintage flowers.)

i do believe i got the wreath form at hobby lobby, the flowers from vintage mast (the best antique store in shipshewana), and the fabric from a thrift store.  i put buttons over the center of the flowers and used push pins to secure them.  super simple - just how i like it!  (ps!  i found this awesome idea on pintrest --- bend a piece of cheap foam tubing and duct tape from the hardware store instead of a premade form!  genius!)

if you get a chance, check out jeni's blog.  she's super adorable (and so is her bunny, george!) and is sure to inspire you to start collecting vintage sheets for your own sewing endeavors.

xo, a
